Sparkling Rosés - the Pink Wine with Tiny Bubbles

Sparkling Rosés have become a hit this summer at the WWOL household with the hands-down favorites coming from France.  The sparklers critiqued are from three unique regions of France: Alsace, Loire and Burgundy.  For the distance the wines travel to get to the states, it is surprising they remain affordable and are oh so extremely palatable on a warm summer's eve. The French do sparkling wine the best and should, as this the country where this delectable wine orginated. Following are recommended Sparkling Rosé wines that won’t break the piggy bank.

Crémant d'Alsace Brut Lucien Albrecht is only produced from the cuvée ( first pressings from press). Characteristics of this sparkling wine begin with its attractive coral color, strawberries on the nose, very elegant, creamy and balanced mouth. 100% Pinot Noir.  Perhaps the depth of this Rosé begins and ends with the origin of the grapes: the vineyards (on clay-chalky soil) are all in the Orschwihr commune, a large vine-growing area in Southern Alsace region of France which has an early micro climate.   A summer sparkler that is extremely simple and extremly good for $14.99 a bottle.

This is a brilliant sparkling rosé from France's Loire Valley made from Cabernet Franc grapes located in and around Saumur- dry, crisp with ripe, succulent red berry flavors and herbal nuances on the palate ending in a soft finish. Enjoy with hors d'oeuvres and first courses. This is extremely reasonable at about $12.99 a bottle.

Last but not least, WWOL encourages a purchase of this gem, Cremant De Bourgogne Rosé, Cuvee Prestige, Collin Bourisset. A crisp, elegant sparkler with a delicate pink hue. Bright raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, a creamy mousse and a long, well developed finish. A great beginning or ending to a summer picnic. The price point on this wine is approximatey $17.00 a bottle.

You won't be disappointed with any of these selections.  Try a few of your own and submit  tasting notes to WWOL for publishing.  See Community-Wine Reviews.  We encourage it!  Cheers and Enjoy your Summer.
